Investor/RT is not fully compatible with the larger font
size / DPI settings of the Windows operating system. Investor/RT
works best with the "Normal" (XP), "Default" (Vista), or "Smaller 100%"
(Win 7) text size settings in the display options of the control panel.
When larger text/font sizes are selected, certain Investor/RT windows
and features do not display properly or optimally. The
instructions below explain how to adjust this setting for the various
operating systems. If you make this change and text is too small
for you to read, you might consider decreasing the resolution on your
monitor. Windows 7: Right-click on a blank spot
on the desktop. Click on "Personalize". In the left pane,
click on "Display". Investor/RT works best with the
"Smaller 100%" scale size instead of the Medium or Large
scale.
Windows Vista: Right-click on a blank spot
on the desktop. Click on "Personalize". In the left pane,
click on "Adjust Font Size". Investor/RT works best with the
"Default" scale size instead of the Large scale. See
below for more.
Windows XP and
Windows 2000: Go to "Control Panel" and open the "Display" properties
window. For Windows XP, click on the "Appearance" tab and you will
see a window similar to the one below. For Windows 2000, go to the
"Settings" tab, click the "Advanced" button, then select the "General"
tab. The steps will probably vary somewhat for different versions
of Windows, but the key is to find the "Font Size" setting, and set it
to the smallest size. In XP, that size is "Normal". In
Windows 2000, that size is called "Small Fonts".

Larger font sizes tend to be incompatible with a
cross-platform development tool we use (XVT). If you've changed
your font size to the smallest size, and you still have a problem with
controls being out of place or invisible, please email
support@linnsoft.com and
supply as much detail as possible explaining your situation.
One user recently reported that lowering the resolution (Display
Properties: Settings Tab) and/or lowering the DPI setting (Display
Properties: Settings Tab: Advanced Button: General Tab) helped eliminate
the problem. In his specific case, he lowered his resolution to
1152x864 and his dpi to 96. On my computer, I experimented by
switching the DPI from 96 (Normal size) to 120 (Larger Size) and
rebooting, combined with a Screen resolution of 1280x960. This
resulting in the problems mentioned above. Switching back to 96
dpi corrected things. A reboot IS required after changing this
setting.x1
