Investor/RT Shared Charts |
Investor/RT has a chart export/import feature which allows users to quickly share charts they have created with other users. The resulting imported chart will reflect the exported chart in every way, including colors, size, symbol(s), indicators, periodicity, viewing period, and any other chart or scaling preferences. Charts are shared using text (.txt) files called Chart Definitions. To Export A Chart, right-click in a chart and choose "Save: Chart Definition" or choose "File: Save: Save Definition" from the main menu. The result will be a text file which will have the same name as the chart by default. This text file can then be attached to an email and sent to another user or to Linn Software support. You may also simple right-click in the chart and choose "Share Picture" and the chart will be automatically uploaded to a web page on www.charthub.com. For more information on sharing a chart, click here.
To Download and Import a Chart Definition below, click on the link below the chart image to open up the definition in a browser window. Then select all the definition text (with Ctrl-A or Edit:Select All). Then copy the definition to your clipboard (with Ctrl-C or Edit:Copy). Then, in Investor/RT, choose "File: Import: Definition from Clipboard" from the main menu. The chart should appear.
