4:35 pm:--X-- Welcome - Linn Software: Powerful Market Analysis Software for the RealTime Investor on
Macintosh and PC's. See Http://www.Linnsoft.com for complete information, tour, demo, etc... Formal Chat
session are Tuesday's at 4:30 est.
4:35 pm:<fcat> chad I have a request for an irt addition for when you have nothing to work on --lol
4:35 pm:<LS_Chad> fire away
4:35 pm:<fcat> how tough would it be to add a price display option to pp's as there is in the hor ref line ti?
4:36 pm:*** Daniel has joined us
4:36 pm:<Mike> dale, pass info to beeliner Chad I think said he understands and might implement it
4:36 pm:<dale> ok will do
4:36 pm:<Mike> pivot points fcat?
4:36 pm:<fcat> yes sorry
4:37 pm:<LS_Chad> what kind of price display are you referring to fcat?
4:37 pm:<fcat> decimal places
4:37 pm:<Daniel> ok back...
4:37 pm:<Mike> mine show pivot prices fcat
4:37 pm:<Mike> 739.2 R1
4:37 pm:<fcat> .25 display for eminis for example
4:37 pm:<Daniel> that's simple
4:37 pm:<LS_Chad> it should be using the display format of the underlying symbol
4:37 pm:<LS_Chad> is that not what you want?
4:38 pm:<fcat> lol ---scratch that request
4:38 pm:<Daniel> lol
4:38 pm:*** HaydenK has joined us
4:38 pm:<Mike> it in program already?
4:38 pm:<X> Hello HaydenK. Welcome to Linn Software Chat room.
4:38 pm:<fcat> yes
4:38 pm:<fcat> sorry
4:39 pm:<LS_Chad> no prob
4:39 pm:<fcat> just in a different spot than I was looking
4:39 pm:<Daniel> so Chad how is the secret project coming along?
4:39 pm:<Daniel> is it in the beta's under a key combo somewhere?
4:39 pm:<LS_Chad> I should be able to get back on that before the week is out
4:40 pm:<LS_Chad> needs some work...
4:40 pm:<Daniel> k
4:40 pm:<LS_Chad> no....not yet
4:40 pm:<IRT_USER> get price range error when downloading dow data have auto selected
4:40 pm:*** LS_Bill has joined us
4:40 pm:<LS_Chad> yea....that's in tpo charts
4:40 pm:<LS_Chad> change to "every $1 range"
4:40 pm:<X> Hello LS_Bill. Welcome to Linn Software Chat room.
4:40 pm:<LS_Chad> instead of auto
4:40 pm:<LS_Chad> too many price points on INDU to chart...have to setup a range...$1 works well
4:41 pm:*** ab has joined us
4:41 pm:<HaydenK> I love this chat setup. It even welcomes its creator (Hello LS Bill) :-)
4:41 pm:<Mike> be good if that auto adjused Chad
4:41 pm:<X> Hello ab. Welcome to Linn Software Chat room.
4:41 pm:<IRT_USER> thx chat works now
4:42 pm:<krunch12b> is God here Hayden?
4:42 pm:<LS_Chad> well...I could automatically determine some range I guess
4:42 pm:<HaydenK> Dunno, hadn't thought to ask
4:42 pm:<Mike> just seems many get at DOW message etc...
4:42 pm:<LS_Bill> I think Mike setup that greeting ;-)
4:42 pm:<fcat> hi Bill
4:42 pm:<LS_Bill> it greets everyone
4:42 pm:<HaydenK> Yup
4:42 pm:<LS_Bill> hello everyone
4:42 pm:<HaydenK> Hi
4:43 pm:<Mike> yes Channel has topic now, welcome message so a bit more official and ability to boot though
never really needed here.
4:43 pm:<fcat> I have an update to my data lag if you want it
4:43 pm:<Mike> yes fcat what happened please?
4:43 pm:<LS_Bill> sure, was beta 7 any improvement?
4:43 pm:<fcat> oh yes
4:44 pm:<fcat> irt lickity split now
4:44 pm:<fcat> my buffer full count still very high though
4:44 pm:<LS_Bill> I increased the data reception buffer size 8 fold
4:44 pm:<Mike> how why what was culprit?
4:44 pm:<fcat> 3127 was buffer full count at end of session 0 today
4:45 pm:<Mike> how do we see that?
4:45 pm:<LS_Bill> the bandwidth of data has increased some much in the last year or two that the original data
reception buffers just we no longer big enough
4:45 pm:<Daniel> 5 sec lag at worse for me at high volume but I still get the dreaded no data message and I
wiped Tiger clean.
4:45 pm:<krunch12b> is there some way to tone down the grid lines in volume profile?
4:45 pm:<fcat> saw as high as 1400 packets per sec
4:45 pm:*** Christine2 has joined us
4:45 pm:<LS_Bill> I made a few more tweaks in beta 8, work on installers now
4:45 pm:<Daniel> k
4:45 pm:<Mike> agree Krunch or user option to remove or set color be good
4:45 pm:<X> Hello Christine2. Welcome to Linn Software Chat room.
4:46 pm:<Christine2> hi all
4:46 pm:<Daniel> hi
4:46 pm:<LS_Bill> there is an internal threshold of how many data packets IRT will process consecutively
before it comes up for air and looks for user interface updates
4:47 pm:<Daniel> ill it seems that around 260k is when it sticks
4:47 pm:<krunch12b> how about programmable reference lines on tpo charts
4:47 pm:<IRT_USER> is there a place to get an explanation on your new volume profile charts im using er2 if
it makes a diff in chart with ib feed
4:47 pm:<Daniel> as if a 260k block of data makes it stick
4:47 pm:<LS_Bill> this was set pretty low for DTN IQ and myTrack so I increased this to bias the software a
bit more toward gobbling data rather than watching for user mouse movements and such
4:48 pm:<LS_Bill> daniel, that is the max buffer size so that's expected, it just means that you were
operating at full tilt a lot of the time
4:48 pm:<Daniel> ah ok
4:48 pm:<LS_Bill> this next tweak in beta 8 may help further
4:48 pm:<Daniel> k
4:48 pm:<fcat> bill why would my buffer full count still be so high?...lag is all but gone
4:49 pm:<Daniel> see how low my cpu is at? Crank it open and lets see how much the G5 can take
4:49 pm:<Mike> Krunch have that now! can set ref lines to variables which are totally programmable
4:49 pm:<krunch12b> send me to learning link please
4:49 pm:<Daniel> I never see my G5 hit the 75% cpu mark so there is more room
4:50 pm:*** vacations4life has joined us
4:50 pm:<fcat> Bill cpu usage peaks are still about the same...but average usage way down
4:50 pm:<Mike> Krunch it in TPO prefs, you need IRT pro to program the variables i can help if you need.
4:51 pm:<fcat> fans on cpu almost never on now...rare
4:51 pm:<krunch12b> ok, thanks
4:51 pm:<fcat> before beta they ran half the day
4:51 pm:<LS_Bill> the buffer full count statistic just count the number of times that IRT has to wait for a
fraction of a second to allow the main application pull data
4:51 pm:<Mike> 23 users here nice....
4:51 pm:<krunch12b> should try market delta and see what your fans do
4:51 pm:<krunch12b> lol
4:52 pm:<tuna_1> lol
4:52 pm:<Mike> my buffer full says 337 PC IB feed for today all day
4:52 pm:<dale> lol
4:52 pm:<LS_Bill> let me in on the joke ;-)
4:52 pm:<Mike> Arno, ab, CAfe how you all doing? others also questions, comments, issues, happy???
4:52 pm:<dale> MD is a CPU hog bill
4:52 pm:<tuna_1> md is a cpu pig
4:52 pm:<LS_Bill> ah
4:53 pm:<fcat> Bill I knew your buffer increase did the trick 10 seconds after the open on Mon
4:53 pm:<Daniel> no problem here with my fans
4:53 pm:<krunch12b> cpu ran at 30 to 60 percent with only market delta running
4:53 pm:<arno> doing great - 1 week with i/rt
4:53 pm:<LS_Bill> good to hear
4:53 pm:<Mike> great selling point for IRT stuff Bill! 1 program and efficient cpu on PC :)
4:53 pm:<Daniel> I know what your fan problem is related to and it's not IRT..it's an Apple issue
4:53 pm:<Daniel> I fixed by putting my cpu on max performance..and presto no more fans
4:53 pm:<Mike> they on PC dan
4:53 pm:<LS_Bill> I've got one of those loud fan mac g4.
4:53 pm:<fcat> interesting Daniel...since I'm on a pc
4:54 pm:<Daniel> fcat I though u had a G5 2.5?
4:54 pm:<fcat> yes a 2.7...but trading with a pc now
4:54 pm:<Mike> me to
4:55 pm:<Daniel> k
4:55 pm:<Mike> Bill float windows on PC update?
4:55 pm:<LS_Bill> I have a dual core intel mac now, guys
4:55 pm:<fcat> I know...it's sad
4:55 pm:<Mike> wow Bill great which one? mini?
4:55 pm:<Mike> very sad Fcat
4:55 pm:<Daniel> yes Bill I figured as much since you posted your stop start continue problem with Xcode
4:55 pm:<LS_Bill> just a mini to get started with intel macs
4:55 pm:<fcat> :(
4:55 pm:<fcat> not for long
4:56 pm:<krunch12b> well, everyone has preferences. I've been liking amd's chips for a long time now
4:56 pm:<fcat> I have a lot of confidence in Bill
4:56 pm:<Daniel> did u figure it out...I'm betting its a build/deploy problem
4:56 pm:<LS_Bill> I ran OS X Investor/RT on intel for the first time today. It ran about 2 seconds ;-)
4:56 pm:<fcat> thanks Bill
4:56 pm:<krunch12b> crash?
4:56 pm:<fcat> so much for that
4:56 pm:<fcat> ;-)
4:56 pm:<krunch12b> or it took two seconds to load
4:57 pm:<LS_Bill> lots to do to get an OS X program to work on an intel cpu
4:57 pm:<krunch12b> :>)
4:57 pm:<Mike> run a db, few charts Bill at open when faster action, VP with splits, run TWS a java app
etc... then see quote speed
4:57 pm:<LS_Bill> it stopped dead in its tracks after 2 seconds is what I meant
4:57 pm:<Mike> ahh oh
4:58 pm:<Daniel> yes but...did u fix the break point issue?
4:58 pm:<LS_Bill> it may take a month or so to get the kinks out, just don't know yet
4:58 pm:<LS_Bill> no still can't get the tools to work on intel daniel.
4:58 pm:<Daniel> here's the answer
4:58 pm:<Daniel>
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&client=safari&rls=en&q=GDB+not+stopping+at+break+points&btnG=Search
4:59 pm:<Mike> can pc apps run on minis dan?
4:59 pm:<Daniel> they will
5 pm:<Daniel> with virutalization
5 pm:<Mike> ahh no good
5 pm:<Daniel> yes good
5 pm:<Daniel> not like VPC
5 pm:<Mike> Bill float windows on PC update?
5 pm:<Daniel> VPC= hardware emulation
5 pm:<Daniel> virtualization is not the same thing
5:01 pm:<Mike> Cafe I try to get you some my older woodie charts ok?
5:01 pm:<Daniel> Bill's is inside my google search
5:01 pm:<Daniel> hehe
5:01 pm:<Cliff> Let me second request for floating windows
5:01 pm:<Mike> It not perfect woodie graphics but it is somewhat same
5:01 pm:<LS_Bill> I'll read that later, looks like I'm not the first to bump into that
5:01 pm:<LS_Bill> thanks daniel
5:01 pm:<Daniel> yep
5:01 pm:<Daniel> np
5:01 pm:<Mike> yes Cliff many will love that Bill knows I think.
5:02 pm:<LS_Bill> I did a lot of searching inside apple developer site, should have just googled...
5:02 pm:<Daniel> yes
5:02 pm:<Daniel> lol
5:02 pm:<Daniel> google first
5:02 pm:<Christine2> Mike, thanks
5:02 pm:<Christine2> easy to setup the basics for the panel
5:02 pm:<Cliff> thanks mike
5:03 pm:<Christine2> but maybe you can help me ....if it's possible to change the CCI histogram to display a
different colored bar after the 5th bar below or above the zero line....etc.
5:03 pm:<Mike> Cafe I have colors, and cci colored but not colored vertical lines on CCI like first 5 bars no
5:04 pm:<Mike> that we have to ask Chad if can do.
5:04 pm:<Christine2> ok...i have custom histogram already
5:04 pm:<Christine2> that part is easy
5:05 pm:<Christine2> and the set-open scan works great....but wonder if there is a scan to set the daily bar
to take the open and start drawing the bar from there
5:05 pm:<Mike> chad in beta can we set column width say to 5 pixels so can match sync charts?
5:05 pm:<Daniel> how is the IRT< > NT5 integration coming along...how close are we to displaying
entry/stop/target on a TPO chart without setting up user variables and such?
5:06 pm:<Mike> Bill can her daily bar be drawn live from intraday data?
5:06 pm:<krunch12b> how about buttons on tpo charts, so you can change instruments or session periodicity, turn
on off reference lines ect with out having to go into chart preferences
5:07 pm:<Mike> Chad here?
5:07 pm:<LS_Chad> Mike...already told you that column widths can be set in beta 8
5:08 pm:<Daniel> wow Krunch you do that to the TPO charts in the day?
5:08 pm:<Mike> right set by dragging or set number of pixels?
5:08 pm:<Daniel> I set and leave them alone...see all no touch
5:08 pm:<krunch12b> stay busy
5:08 pm:<Daniel> lol
5:09 pm:<krunch12b> looking for easy
5:09 pm:<Daniel> busy managing ES/ER/NQ/QM/ZN trades
5:09 pm:<LS_Chad> # of pixels ...that can be adjusted from keyboard (ctrl-left/right arrow)
5:10 pm:<krunch12b> sure like ability to add buttons to traditional charts in irt. works good like it want
more
5:10 pm:<Daniel> I suppose he can put them in the toggle tab area with the other buttons and info box
5:10 pm:<LS_Chad> krunch...I'll add some convenience buttons to the TPO and VP toolbars when I get time
5:10 pm:<krunch12b> now ya thinking
5:10 pm:<krunch12b> thanks chad
5:10 pm:<krunch12b> I know you have lot on plate
5:11 pm:<fcat> Bill I will add my 2nd monitor back over the weekend and let you know if the lag returns at all
5:11 pm:<Daniel> i'll shoot the first person that asks for Trend Lines on TPO charts!
5:11 pm:<krunch12b> well,
5:11 pm:<krunch12b> lol
5:11 pm:<Daniel> lol
5:11 pm:<LS_Bill> sounds good. hopefully the beta 8 improve the speed also
5:11 pm:<krunch12b> one thing at a time
5:11 pm:<mptrading> ok, can Trendlines be added to volume range bars ? LOL
5:11 pm:<fcat> don't worry about me dan....I still don't know what a tpo chart is
5:11 pm:<Daniel> lol
5:12 pm:<Daniel> volume range trend lines!!! OMG
5:12 pm:<fcat> great bill
5:12 pm:<Daniel> lol
5:12 pm:<krunch12b> fcat, ya dont want to know it will just confuse you like it does me
5:12 pm:<LS_Chad> I gotta head out in a minute guys...any last words?
5:12 pm:<fcat> lol
5:12 pm:<dale> You Rock!
5:13 pm:<krunch12b> god bless
5:13 pm:<Mike> next beta out soon?
5:13 pm:<Daniel> have all I need Chad for TPO charts.....unless you want to discuss approval of any odd
request you've received ;-)
5:13 pm:<LS_Chad> 10 seconds
5:13 pm:<LS_Chad> 9 - 8
5:14 pm:<Mike> ok
5:14 pm:<LS_Chad> beta 8 at: http://www.linnsoft.com/dl/win/beta/
5:14 pm:<LS_Chad> have at it
5:14 pm:<Daniel> oh wait!!!
5:14 pm:<Daniel> Chad
5:14 pm:<LS_Chad> yes
5:14 pm:<Daniel> poc of every 30 min period
5:14 pm:<tuna_1> dan how's the look back feature coming along?
5:14 pm:<Daniel> remember that one?
5:14 pm:<fcat> Bill...any word on post market data issue from dtn guy?...heard nothing here
5:14 pm:<LS_Chad> you mean..largest volume
5:15 pm:<LS_Chad> of the VP splits?
5:15 pm:<LS_Bill> I'm sorry nothing more to report
5:15 pm:<LS_Chad> largest volume price
5:15 pm:<Daniel> no ...on the TP chart
5:15 pm:<fcat> k ty
5:15 pm:<LS_Chad> ok...what do you want me to do with them? make bold?
5:15 pm:<LS_Chad> make different letter?
5:15 pm:<Daniel> shae the exact letter in the row darker to represent the highest volume in that period
5:15 pm:<Daniel> yes
5:15 pm:<LS_Chad> ok...could be done...remind me tomorrow
5:15 pm:<LS_Chad> good night
5:15 pm:<Daniel> bold or shade darker
5:15 pm:<Daniel> k
5:15 pm:<Mike> yes splits should mark largest split cell
5:15 pm:<Daniel> thnx
5:16 pm:<fcat> nite chad thanks
5:16 pm:<Mike> bold itialic or underline maybe
5:16 pm:<Daniel> g'nite
5:17 pm:*** IRT_USER has left
5:17 pm:<Daniel> there are many useful things that can be added o the TPO chart..it just takes time to
conceptualize what is useful from what offers absolutely no edge.
5:18 pm:*** zonez has joined us
5:18 pm:<Daniel> 1 feature a month or so is a good pace
5:18 pm:<X> Hello zonez. Weclome to Linn Software Chat room.
5:18 pm:<krunch12b> agree daniel
5:18 pm:<krunch12b> hi zonez
5:19 pm:<Daniel> ok folks...send email with beta 8 availability.
5:19 pm:<Daniel> goodnight all and have a good rest of the trading week.
5:19 pm:<tuna_1> u2 danny
5:19 pm:<Daniel> ciao!
5:19 pm:*** Daniel has left
5:19 pm:<Mike> beat 8 nwo i think
5:19 pm:<zonez> hey all, gotta go may be back
5:20 pm:<zonez> we'll have to ask Chad if he can cut back to 1 per month
5:20 pm:<krunch12b> shhh! zonez
5:20 pm:<krunch12b> lol
5:20 pm:<Mike> shhh
5:20 pm:*** ab has left
5:21 pm:<krunch12b> we tell him one a month then crack whip
5:21 pm:<krunch12b> lol
5:21 pm:<krunch12b> along with beg and pleading
5:23 pm:<Mike> ctrl
5:23 pm:<Mike> ctrl+right left arrows sets VP column widths folks
5:24 pm:<Mike> nice
5:24 pm:*** vacations4life has left
5:25 pm:<Mike> Bill here?
5:25 pm:<Mike> no one typing?
5:27 pm:<krunch12b> hi mike
5:27 pm:<tuna_1> danny just told everyone how to trade correctly,,,what more could you want/?
5:28 pm:<krunch12b> send check?
5:28 pm:<tuna_1> he had to leave quickly
5:29 pm:<LS_Bill> had to take a phone call sorry
5:29 pm:<Mike> i need float pc windows no JP chat room so I have more space now he he :)
5:29 pm:<krunch12b> guess i will go and get new beta up and running have good week
5:30 pm:<krunch12b> screen real estate important
5:30 pm:*** krunch12b has left
5:31 pm:<arno> Bill or anyone... how do I get the newest tickers from Yahoo or DTN? ie for new IPOS?
5:31 pm:<arno> (on top of the ~6000 )
5:32 pm:<Mike> hummm
5:32 pm:<arno> manually? lol
5:36 pm:<Mike> well if can get a list of them you can import them
5:36 pm:<LS_Bill> I did some preliminary work floating charts outside the task window under Windows XP
5:37 pm:<tuna_1> great!!!
5:37 pm:<LS_Bill> it works pretty well as long as you position the window outside the IRT task window
5:37 pm:<tuna_1> can do
5:37 pm:<LS_Bill> which is how I would expect this to be used
5:37 pm:<tuna_1> yep
5:38 pm:<LS_Bill> however, it is a real problem if you float a chart and keep it in the same area of the rest
of IRT
5:38 pm:<tuna_1> thanks bill
5:38 pm:<LS_Bill> since it covers every other window
5:38 pm:<Mike> well I'd make IRT small then float them all but that me, I can do other wise
5:38 pm:<LS_Bill> so now I'm trying to figure out how to make a window float and unfloat on command
5:39 pm:<LS_Bill> so that if you bring it back into the IRT task window you can unfloat it
5:39 pm:<LS_Bill> once I understand how to do that, I can release this
5:39 pm:<tuna_1> esig just has a toggle button
5:39 pm:<tuna_1> same place as mike said last week
5:40 pm:<LS_Bill> yes, I've reading windows documentation trying to figure out how to do just that
5:40 pm:<LS_Bill> right
5:40 pm:<tuna_1> k
5:40 pm:<Mike> google it :)
5:40 pm:<LS_Bill> ;-) thanks mike
5:40 pm:<tuna_1> this will be great bill
5:40 pm:<Mike> or maybe there a PC developer board mailist to ask that.
5:40 pm:<LS_Bill> so you want to float everything? or just charts?
5:41 pm:<Mike> wonder what need task window at all?
5:41 pm:<tuna_1> i never use esigs main window
5:41 pm:<tuna_1> fwiw
5:41 pm:<Mike> why on PC I need that grey window at all besides me really.
5:42 pm:<tuna_1> i just stick charts here and there
5:42 pm:<LS_Bill> we are a bit constrained here with the XVT model we use, lets not go overboard here,
5:42 pm:<Mike> ok
5:43 pm:<LS_Bill> so all chart types, tpo, vol profile, traditional charts would be enough to start with
anyway
5:43 pm:<Mike> make irt task window be main tool bar size, float all rest :)
5:43 pm:<tuna_1> sure
5:43 pm:<Mike> time and sales they might like floated
5:44 pm:<tuna_1> ya
5:44 pm:<tuna_1> that too
5:44 pm:<Mike> quote pages also
5:44 pm:<Mike> i don't use either
5:44 pm:<LS_Bill> there has to be a space, some space here IRT can bring up error messages, noticie boxes,
etc. display message log windows, etc.
5:44 pm:<Mike> center of front most chart for dialogs
5:44 pm:<tuna_1> good thing mike is here ;)
5:44 pm:<Mike> or center of screen where main tool bar is
5:44 pm:<LS_Bill> I don't think we'll though out the task window, we can't. But sure if you reduced it to the
size of the main toolbar, you would not be able to see anything except the floating windows
5:45 pm:<Mike> can floated locations be remembered?
5:46 pm:<Mike> as now windows relative to screens vs inside IRT task window
5:46 pm:<Mike> anyways be great Bill.
5:46 pm:<Mike> Cliff I see you on Demo you here?
5:47 pm:<tuna_1> esig remembers float locations
5:47 pm:<Mike> Other questions, ideas, thoughts anyone???
5:47 pm:<LS_Bill> yes, that's a given
5:47 pm:<Mike> ok I will float on screen 2 :) so great
5:49 pm:<tuna_1> yup
5:50 pm:<tuna_1> this will be great
5:54 pm:<Mike> Bill osx beta 8 later I assume?
5:55 pm:<Mike> scott splits colro only is great
5:55 pm:<Mike> now we can make wider :)
5:55 pm:<LS_Bill> yes, the OS X will be there later this evening
5:55 pm:<Mike> so basically it is details on candles :)
5:55 pm:<Mike> Cliff here?
5:55 pm:<LS_Bill> what is "scott splits colro" ?
5:55 pm:<Mike> color
5:56 pm:<tuna_1> ya what is that?
5:56 pm:<LS_Bill> what is "scott splits color"
5:56 pm:<tuna_1> lol
5:56 pm:<tuna_1> im scott bill
5:56 pm:<LS_Bill> ;-)
5:56 pm:<Mike> VP splits, show color only... option
5:56 pm:<LS_Bill> ah. well phrased mike, the second time ;-)
5:57 pm:<LS_Bill> Chad is doing so much so fast with TPO and VH that I cannot keep up with it
5:57 pm:<Mike> mac mini you can carry home easily?
5:57 pm:<LS_Bill> weights about 2 pounds I guess, hold it in one hand
5:58 pm:<Mike> yes his stuff pretty well set I guess polish a bit then should be set for first round.
5:58 pm:<tuna_1> chad is doing great work bill,,and seems to be having fun doing it too
5:58 pm:<LS_Bill> I got the dual so it's pretty fast, a lot faster than the dual G4 is have been using in fact
5:58 pm:<tuna_1> and mike is a huge help as always
5:58 pm:<LS_Bill> thanks for your help there Mike
5:58 pm:<Mike> Mini 1.8 ghz?
5:58 pm:<LS_Bill> yes
5:59 pm:<Mike> a bunch of memory?
5:59 pm:<Mike> Does it compile tons faster?
5:59 pm:<LS_Bill> I did add any memory, wanted to see how it did with 512 meg
5:59 pm:<LS_Bill> meg
6 pm:<LS_Bill> its maybe 2.5 faster than the 1.0 gh dual I use
6 pm:<Mike> ok not sure if Xcode needs memory etc...
6 pm:<Mike> for compiles?
6 pm:<LS_Bill> when compiling for intel, it was so fast I didn't get my usually 5 minute coffee break between
compiles
6 pm:<Mike> well seems no questions, and we don't mean to keep you form working :) or family
6:01 pm:<LS_Bill> ok, time to head out. Look for OS X beta 8 later.
6:01 pm:<Mike> what you mean?
6:01 pm:<Mike> Xcode does not compile for intel does it?
6:01 pm:<LS_Bill> sure, on an intel mac Xcode build intel executables
6:01 pm:<Mike> PC XP program?
6:02 pm:<LS_Bill> OS X intel executables
6:02 pm:<Mike> ok
6:02 pm:<LS_Bill> no, OS X intel executable
6:02 pm:<Mike> just tell me when xvt gui stuff is better :)
6:02 pm:<LS_Bill> the term "intel" no longer means "windows"
6:02 pm:<LS_Bill> night everyone
6:02 pm:<Mike> just let me know on cpu graphics improvements on macs thanks
6:02 pm:<Mike> night
6:04 pm:<Mike> Cafe here?
6:05 pm:<Mike> arno here?
6:06 pm:<Mike> new IPO symbols might b e able to do a scan for them?
6:06 pm:<Mike> then scan and compare to what is in IRT db already and auto add them
6:06 pm:<Mike> I have not done that in years
6:06 pm:*** LS_Bill has left
6:07 pm:<Mike> Arno Chad might have advice using yahoo or dtn for scanning for new symbols
6:09 pm:<arno> ok - Chad?
6:09 pm:<Mike> he gone
6:09 pm:<Mike> could email him though
6:10 pm:<arno> will do - thanks Mike
6:10 pm:<Mike> or use LS mail list even for good ideas there
6:10 pm:<Mike> you in that?
6:10 pm:<Mike> other users can give ideas that way also
6:10 pm:<arno> yeah
6:10 pm:<Mike> irt can scan feed etc...
6:10 pm:<arno> I just need to keep adding to the db... otherwise I could miss
6:10 pm:<arno> some good setups
6:10 pm:<Mike> I'm just not sure what is best most efficient way to do what you desire
6:11 pm:<Mike> well maybe every quarter get new ipo list somehow
6:11 pm:<Mike> them import it
6:11 pm:<Mike> then dl data for those new ones
6:11 pm:<arno> others must be doing something?
6:11 pm:<arno> I'll ping the maillist
