4:05 pm:*** MPTRADING2 has joined us
4:15 pm:*** Daniel has joined us
4:15 pm:*** Daniel has left
4:16 pm:*** Daniel has joined us
4:18 pm:*** Rrick has joined us
4:18 pm:<Daniel> afternoon ladies and gentlemen.....I'm wondering if Chad will join us from the summit
4:20 pm:<Daniel> or is Bill going to be our only vistim today >:-)
4:20 pm:<Daniel> victim*
4:20 pm:<Daniel> lol
4:24 pm:*** arno has joined us
4:24 pm:<arno> hey everyone
4:25 pm:<Rrick> Hi guys;-)
4:27 pm:*** William has joined us
4:28 pm:<William> hello everyone
4:29 pm:*** William is now known as LS_Bill
4:29 pm:<Rrick> Noel, wondering if Rene B. got hooked up with you guys?
4:29 pm:<Daniel> Bill you make it down to the summit with Chad and Trevor also?
4:30 pm:<LS_Bill> I'm holding down the fort while Chad and Trevor do the FIA Show
4:30 pm:<Daniel> ah
4:31 pm:<LS_Bill> actually Noel is holding down the fort ;-)
4:31 pm:<Daniel> lol
4:31 pm:<Daniel> NEVER leave the women in charge of the fort!
4:31 pm:<Daniel> the men will attack
4:32 pm:<LS_Bill> She is an exceptional one
4:32 pm:<Daniel> she must be swamp
4:32 pm:<Daniel> busy this year
4:32 pm:<LS_Bill> there is an 8.6 beta 4 released last week available
4:33 pm:<LS_Bill> we will have at least one more beta, beta 5 before going final
4:33 pm:<Daniel> ah..any idea when on the B5?
4:33 pm:<LS_Bill> I finally figured out how to make charthub.com charts show the full window, title bar and all. so that is a welcome fix for 8.6
4:33 pm:<LS_Bill> maybe Friday.
4:34 pm:<Daniel> does it still include the user's info?
4:34 pm:<Daniel> ok thnk
4:34 pm:<subq> hey Daniel, Bill
4:35 pm:<Rrick> Bill, do you feel like talking about the copyright issue or would you like to exchange more email?
4:35 pm:<LS_Bill> in the Share preferences you can specify you wish to be anonymous if you wish
4:35 pm:<subq> ive been meaning to catch chad, i wanted to see if he could give us a feature similar to this URL in volume profiles
4:35 pm:<subq> http://www.chart-ex.com/charts/emini_sp500_combo.htm
4:36 pm:<subq> where we could view just the volume profile something on left vs something on right
4:36 pm:<subq> day vs day, week vs day, month vs day
4:36 pm:*** fcat has joined us
4:36 pm:<Daniel> made the transistion to E-Signal...would suggest IB only for those that use time based methods and charts and basic MP...anything based on ticks data and precise trade size in relation to lot sizes etc should not use it...DIdn't think it would make that much of a difference but it does.
4:37 pm:<subq> im using irt/esignal as well
4:37 pm:<subq> initially i was using dtn
4:37 pm:<subq> ive seen a big variance in IB vs esignal data
4:37 pm:<Daniel> yeah DTN not much better than IB if at all...not worht the $
4:37 pm:<Daniel> free iB or E-Signal
4:37 pm:<LS_Bill> looks interesting subq. I will discuss w/ chad when he returns
4:38 pm:<subq> yeah i bet trevor would love to have something like that too :)
4:38 pm:<subq> those volume profiles
4:38 pm:<subq> ive not seen any charting applications do it...just that java page
4:38 pm:<LS_Bill> I noticed that was a java app
4:40 pm:<LS_Bill> Rrick, what concerns you about the copyright notice?
4:41 pm:<Rrick> I don't feel that a vendor copyright notice should be on user output.
4:41 pm:<LS_Bill> the copyright pertains to I/RT itself, not the image. Does the attribution concern you, or would "Chart by Investor/RT" do as long as there was no (c) 2006 etc.
4:42 pm:<Rrick> Both, I would like to have a WYSIWYG output from a quote page.
4:42 pm:<Rrick> No banner across the top...
4:43 pm:<Rrick> If you must have some sort of attribution then maybe place a trademark at the bottom right...
4:44 pm:<Rrick> Very small would be great!
4:44 pm:<Rrick> 20% of the quote page is banner!
4:45 pm:<Rrick> I know of no other SW that puts copyrights on user output!!!
4:45 pm:<subq> the cbot copyright was required i thought
4:46 pm:<Rrick> What?
4:46 pm:<LS_Bill> CBOT (c) is required under our license of the Market Profile trademark
4:46 pm:<Rrick> I don't user that...
4:47 pm:<LS_Bill> are you talking about images produced by the Share Picture, or Save as Picture command?
4:47 pm:<Rrick> As an end user I should not have anything on my output other than my output...
4:47 pm:<LS_Bill> or are you talking about printed output
4:48 pm:<Rrick> I'm talking about printed output of a Quote Page...
4:49 pm:<Rrick> If you use a word procesor do they stick their copyright on your printed output? No...
4:49 pm:<LS_Bill> that's not a big deal, if I were going to output quotepage data though, I certainly wouldn't bother using the I/RT Print command
4:49 pm:<LS_Bill> if you want some creative control over the appearance of the data, simply save the quotepage "As Excel" then use Excels formatting capabilities to produce a nice output sheet
4:50 pm:<Rrick> If you use a spread sheet do they stick their logo or copyright on your output? No...
4:50 pm:*** Christine has joined us
4:52 pm:<Rrick> So are you saying that you would rather I use another tool to format my Quotepage output?
4:54 pm:<fcat> they make this stuff called whiteout...have you tried that ?
4:55 pm:<LS_Bill> if you want some creative control for publishing output for distribution to others, I'm saying that excel has wonderful formatting tools and I/RT quotepage integrate well with excel
4:55 pm:<Rrick> Yuck, kludge...
4:55 pm:<Rrick> I'm not a publisher, I am a end user ;-)
4:55 pm:<LS_Bill> the print command within IRT simply dumps the quotepage data is a fixed format, not very pretty.
4:56 pm:<Rrick> Not with the banner that is;-)
4:57 pm:<Rrick> So, it sounds like you do not get what I am saying. Nor will you make the requested change ;-(
4:57 pm:<LS_Bill> I'll see what I can do to make you happy Rrick. This has never come up before. Noone has ever indicated that they were bothered by our attribution.
4:57 pm:<Christine> have a question for Bill....when i connect IRT to IB on another computer, it displays the IP address twice and doesn't connect...I can't seem to fix it
4:58 pm:<LS_Bill> they were put there primarily to ensure that published material gave credit to I/RT for producing them.
4:59 pm:<Rrick> It is an issue with me for several reasons... I would appreciate if you could look at it from an end users point of view.
4:59 pm:<LS_Bill> what do u mean "it displays", please elaborate
5 pm:<Christine> instead of connecting to local host..it shows the ip address...but it is there twice....so IRT doesn't connect to the correct IP address
5 pm:<subq> i missed the problem i guess, if you actually print to paper some copyright is put on there?
5:01 pm:<Rrick> Maybe you could have a preference that is for end users or publishers. Publishers get logos and copyrights in their output. End users get WYSIWYG formatting of their data...
5:01 pm:<LS_Bill> Christine, you have to type in the IP address of the computer on your network that is running TWS
5:01 pm:<Christine> I did that
5:01 pm:<LS_Bill> also Christine, use the Random Client id
5:01 pm:<Christine> it used to work
5:01 pm:<Christine> now it's stopped working since I upgraded on the other computer
5:02 pm:<Christine> ah....random client may be it
5:02 pm:<LS_Bill> sometimes IP addresses on local networks change. Are you using DHCP
5:02 pm:<Christine> hmmm....i'll have to check that
5:02 pm:<LS_Bill> doulble check that the ip address is the right one
5:04 pm:<Christine> i'll let you know next week.....thanks
5:04 pm:<LS_Bill> I don't really care that much about quotepage output, but chart images are a differnet matter. Its is not a copyright issue, but I think that the output should have an attribution so that other viewers can see what software produced the image
5:06 pm:<Rrick> Maybe I have been around the likes of Disney or WarnerBros too much... But venors don't go touching users output!
5:06 pm:<Rrick> s/venors/vendors
5:07 pm:<Rrick> I have been in the industry for 30 years and have never seen user output marked up with vendor logos etc...
5:08 pm:<Rrick> I do not know of any word processing, spread sheets, drawing, painting, nonlinear, image processing, etc...
5:09 pm:<MPTRADING2> so much energy wasted with this BS about logo.. let it go pal
5:09 pm:*** IRT_USER has joined us
5:09 pm:<Daniel> he has a point of it's 20% th szie of the QP
5:09 pm:<MPTRADING2> on PC?
5:10 pm:<Daniel> me I don't use printing of anything like that
5:10 pm:<MPTRADING2> go buy snag and edit the image
5:10 pm:<MPTRADING2> snag it!
5:10 pm:<LS_Bill> I'll see what I can do to either eliminate to reduce it from the printed output. lets move on
5:10 pm:<subq> maybe just remove the copyright stuff on a quotepage
5:10 pm:<subq> leave it in charts
5:11 pm:<Rrick> When I create a custom chart or quote page as an end user it is MY IP and I don't like to see anothers copyright over it...
5:12 pm:<Rrick> OK thank you! Done...
5:12 pm:<Daniel> in beta 4 I noticed that TPO charts won't save unless u go save it directly and not withthe "save all"
5:12 pm:<LS_Bill> tell you what, bring me as many end users as Warner and Disney and I'll remove anything you wish ;-)
5:12 pm:<Daniel> anyone notice this?
5:13 pm:<LS_Bill> save all only saves objects that have been modified in some way
5:13 pm:<Rrick> I brought you Rene B. ;-)
5:14 pm:<LS_Bill> that's a start Rrick ;-)
5:14 pm:<Daniel> use to save all charts in one pass...beta skips TPO but svaes tradional charts and others
5:14 pm:<Daniel> it's a bug
5:14 pm:*** Goldman_afk has joined us
5:15 pm:<Daniel> Bill...ofcourse it's modified or els ewhy would it ask t save after I do a save all and try to close it?
5:15 pm:<subq> im on beta 3, is beta 4 out?
5:15 pm:<LS_Bill> yes
5:15 pm:<LS_Bill> http://www.linnsoft.com/dl/win/beta/irt_win_86b4.exe
5:15 pm:<subq> i need to grab that
5:15 pm:<LS_Bill> Beta 4 has the new charthub save window frame improvement
5:16 pm:<IRT_USER> CAN I TRY IT ALSO
5:16 pm:<IRT_USER> sorry for caps
5:16 pm:<LS_Bill> sure, this is a public beta, available to anyone
5:17 pm:<IRT_USER> Bill... do you support TT as a deta feed?
5:17 pm:<LS_Bill> 8.6 is near final
5:18 pm:<LS_Bill> We hope to add TT soon. We're working with Market Delta on that
5:18 pm:<IRT_USER> k. ty
5:18 pm:<LS_Bill> I've recently done CQG for institutional clients using Market Delta.
5:19 pm:<LS_Bill> and TT is on the short list too
5:19 pm:<fcat> which list are my goofy 1m charts on ?
5:19 pm:<Daniel> huh what part of TT u mean for trade through support like NT5?
5:19 pm:<LS_Bill> TT as a data source
5:20 pm:<Daniel> ah ok
5:20 pm:<LS_Bill> both CQG and TT have an order execution API, but we have no immediate plans to use it.
5:21 pm:<Daniel> have insitutions come on board as a result of the CQG and MP?
5:21 pm:<Daniel> told Chad to tell me if Peter Steidlamyer comes by to snoop on the MP charts..since they are better than his '-)
5:22 pm:<LS_Bill> ;-)
5:23 pm:<MPTRADING2> most institunions have direct CME Ilink 2.0 for example, TT is slower in comparison with direct CME feed. Black box Institutional traders are not using TT as feed anymore, so I heard.
5:23 pm:<subq> ok on beta4 now
5:23 pm:<LS_Bill> share a chart
5:23 pm:<Daniel> yes I mentioned this to Bill last year and suggested he go straight othe CME for emini traders and a Linnsoft Emini feed license
5:23 pm:<Daniel> more $$
5:23 pm:<Daniel> $1500 month I think the fee is
5:23 pm:<subq> ah much better
5:24 pm:<LS_Bill> paste the link
5:24 pm:<Daniel> hmm...k
5:24 pm:<MPTRADING2> well, you actually can "host "your program on someone that has a direct link
5:24 pm:<subq> http://www.charthub.com/images/2006/11/28/TICK_5m_3
5:24 pm:<subq> vs the old
5:24 pm:<subq> http://www.charthub.com/images/2006/11/28/TICK_5m_2
5:25 pm:<Daniel> paste the link for the CME feed BIll...you talking to me?
5:25 pm:<LS_Bill> no, I wanted to see a charthub posting from beta 4
5:25 pm:<Daniel> k
5:26 pm:<subq> can we do that?
5:26 pm:<subq> get a linnsoft emini feed?
5:26 pm:<subq> that would be awesome
5:26 pm:<Daniel> sure
5:27 pm:<subq> cut down on stinking esignal price
5:27 pm:<Daniel> Bill would have to license the feed from them as a 3rd party vendor and then make it easy and affordable
5:27 pm:<subq> it would be nice if they had a cheap data only feed
5:27 pm:<subq> wonder how much licensing is
5:27 pm:<MPTRADING2> 5k
5:27 pm:<subq> 5k/month?
5:27 pm:<MPTRADING2> per month
5:27 pm:<Daniel> I honstly think Linnsoft would make a decent amount of $ with that
5:27 pm:<subq> and you can redistribute the feed as much as you want?
5:27 pm:<MPTRADING2> was 1 year ago
5:27 pm:<Daniel> another on of my bright ideas!
5:27 pm:<Daniel> lol
5:27 pm:<Rrick> Can't share with a MacOS X version or IRT?
5:27 pm:<MPTRADING2> never
5:28 pm:<LS_Bill> not yet Rrick
5:28 pm:<MPTRADING2> each client still needs to pay a fee feed
5:28 pm:<Daniel> not as much as you want
5:28 pm:<MPTRADING2> same as you pay today
5:28 pm:<subq> but the payment would go to linnsoft
5:28 pm:<Daniel> it has a fee of $1500 for a pipe of a certain amount of users
5:28 pm:<subq> hmmm
5:28 pm:<MPTRADING2> then linnsoft would go out of business on a law suite for re-distributing data
5:28 pm:<LS_Bill> coming soon I hope, all of the new chart sharing work was done for MS Windows first
5:28 pm:<Daniel> like you and I could go straigh to them if we wanted to
5:29 pm:<subq> if linnsoft charged $50 at $5000 they would need 100 users just to break even
5:29 pm:<subq> what is the limit of users with that 5k license?
5:29 pm:<Daniel> it's not that much
5:29 pm:<MPTRADING2> no clue
5:29 pm:<Daniel> $1500 I think I saw
5:29 pm:<subq> well $1500 isnt bad at all
5:29 pm:<Rrick> Ok, no worries... Just thought I'd share;-)
5:29 pm:<Daniel> checking
5:29 pm:<MPTRADING2> oh,,, and no support from CME
5:29 pm:<subq> heck we may be able to drum enough people just to pool it if linnsoft would support reading the data :)
5:30 pm:<MPTRADING2> besides a very well documented API
5:30 pm:<LS_Bill> which one of your is going to manage the server farm 24x7 ?
5:30 pm:<Daniel> $9000 per year
5:31 pm:<subq> does it need a server farm?
5:31 pm:<subq> subq does that sort of thing already I hear :)
5:31 pm:<Daniel> nope dont think so
5:31 pm:<LS_Bill> ;-)
5:31 pm:<subq> daniel what is the user limitation
5:31 pm:<subq> that is only $750/month
5:31 pm:<Daniel> http://www.cme.com/trading/dta/dist/newapp/subvend2838.html
5:32 pm:<Rrick> No problem with the farm Bill... I've done Sun, SGI, DEC & Crays for a long while;-)
5:32 pm:<Daniel> http://www.cme.com/trading/dta/dist/newapp1195.html
5:32 pm:<fcat> Bill...any headway on my 1m charts ?
5:32 pm:<subq> sun still around?
5:32 pm:* subq runs
5:33 pm:<subq> all *nix and windows servers these days
5:33 pm:<subq> i guarantee one server could handle plenty of connections
5:33 pm:<Daniel> yes
5:33 pm:<LS_Bill> I have been out of town for several weeks, haven't had much time, fcat
5:33 pm:<Daniel> all of Linnsoft's emini/CME traders
5:33 pm:<Daniel> this would also bring users on board
5:33 pm:<subq> daniel pony up....join venture :)
5:34 pm:<subq> joint
5:34 pm:<Daniel> I always pony up...my mind is my investment ;-)
5:34 pm:<subq> i think it's worth looking into
5:35 pm:<Daniel> Linnsoft conered themarkt with TPO/MD or will soon.
5:35 pm:<Rrick> You could rack up a bunch of PS3s ;-)
5:35 pm:<subq> but like any good business man, would have to crunch the numbers
5:35 pm:<subq> how many users would actually be interested
5:35 pm:<subq> how much would they be willing to pay
5:35 pm:<subq> etc etc...
5:35 pm:<fcat> at least 2 it seems
5:35 pm:<fcat> ;-)
5:36 pm:<Daniel> u know what they say...there's no shortage of good ideas with no money ;-)
5:36 pm:<subq> so with 2 users $750/month only what $300 some odd for each user?
5:36 pm:<subq> heheh
5:36 pm:<subq> isnt that the truth
5:36 pm:<fcat> :)
5:36 pm:<subq> like i said i would be willing to do it with a pool of people right now
5:36 pm:<subq> considering what im paying esignal
5:36 pm:<subq> a pool of about 5-10 users would bring that cost down
5:36 pm:<Daniel> $177 i pay
5:36 pm:<Daniel> 117*
5:37 pm:<subq> 10 users would be pretty good
5:37 pm:<subq> $75/each
5:37 pm:<Daniel> Cme eminis/eCbot mins/Nymex
5:37 pm:<MPTRADING2> you will alway shave to pay the exchange fees, REMEMBER THAT
5:37 pm:<MPTRADING2> no free luch except speed
5:38 pm:<subq> we have to get Bill to support the feed first :)
5:38 pm:<Daniel> Bill would have to see how many subscribers curently trade only CME products and how many dont blow out thier accounts to make it worht it
5:38 pm:<subq> daniel, well like i said if I/RT supported the feed, we could probably just coop the thing
5:38 pm:<subq> we would need a minimum of 10 users
5:38 pm:<fcat> thought all CME traders blew out their accounts Dan?
5:39 pm:<Daniel> but a Linnsoft Emini Feed/Charting would not take a significant amount of time to set up...
5:39 pm:<MPTRADING2> each user will pay the current CME fee + whatever is the ratio of total feed cost ? number of users
5:39 pm:<Daniel> lol
5:39 pm:<subq> MPTRADING right
5:39 pm:<Daniel> fcat
5:39 pm:<subq> that would be a coop
5:39 pm:<Daniel> not all...only 90% of the beginners
5:39 pm:<fcat> :)
5:39 pm:<subq> or something very similar
5:40 pm:<Daniel> I blew 12k on attempt one 6 years ago
5:40 pm:<fcat> believe it
5:40 pm:<Daniel> know a few that blew 250 :-(
5:40 pm:<fcat> ouchy
5:41 pm:<Daniel> anyways....anyone find that they cannot save charts TPO charts with a save all anymore?
5:41 pm:<Daniel> beta4
5:41 pm:<fcat> know a few in the 25k cat
5:42 pm:<Daniel> yeah 25 seems average for those that lost their tech jobs that afforded them that luxury
5:42 pm:<LS_Bill> I just did a save all, and it saved a MP chart for which I had modified a pref setting
5:43 pm:<Daniel> beta 4?
5:43 pm:*** IRT_USER has left
5:43 pm:<Daniel> try closing the layout and see if ti asks to save again?
5:44 pm:<Daniel> mine do
5:44 pm:<Daniel> wondering if it has to do with he M or A in the top left
5:44 pm:<Daniel> *the
5:46 pm:*** IRT_USER has joined us
5:46 pm:<LS_Bill> I closed the window and it did not prompt me for saving
5:46 pm:*** IRT_USER is now known as BAHRAM
5:47 pm:<Daniel> man...
5:47 pm:<Daniel> something not right
5:47 pm:<Daniel> try closing the layout
5:47 pm:<Rrick> Got to go walk... Thanks for listening to my rant;-)
5:47 pm:<Daniel> it will prompt
5:48 pm:<LS_Bill> np Rrick. have a nice evening
5:48 pm:<BAHRAM> D
5:48 pm:<Rrick> Bye...
5:48 pm:*** Rrick has left
5:48 pm:<LS_Bill> I have to run also, any final questions
5:48 pm:<BAHRAM> Bill.. my Volume Profile charts have some areas that Zero for volume
5:48 pm:<Daniel> modify it + save all+ save layout + close layout
5:48 pm:<Daniel> it will prompt
5:49 pm:<LS_Bill> is the window untitled?
5:49 pm:<Daniel> nope
5:49 pm:<LS_Bill> what feed do you use Bahram
5:49 pm:<BAHRAM> Esignal
5:49 pm:<Daniel> Bahram..u sure that's volume?
5:50 pm:<Daniel> 0 x something else is bid/ask
5:50 pm:<BAHRAM> yes. volume/footprint
5:50 pm:<Daniel> 0 bid or 0 ask
5:50 pm:<LS_Bill> right-click in the chart and do "Share Picture"
5:50 pm:<BAHRAM> yes
5:50 pm:<LS_Bill> then paste the link into this chat room
5:51 pm:<LS_Bill> then open the preferences for thechart and use File: share picture so we can see your settings
5:51 pm:<BAHRAM> http://www.charthub.com/images/2006/11/28/Daily_FP.png
5:51 pm:<subq> i set mine to not prompt and never save
5:51 pm:<subq> so i cant test it
5:51 pm:<subq> i have to manually save if i want to
5:52 pm:<Daniel> ah
5:52 pm:<subq> so are you saying ifi manually save it wont?
5:52 pm:<subq> or what if i have a couple charts open then do save all?
5:53 pm:<Daniel> yes I have to save eack TPO individually it wont save withthe layout even if I do a "save all'
5:53 pm:<LS_Bill> Bahram, are you talking about no volume at 1395.25 for example?
5:53 pm:<Daniel> or I should get use to saying each *MP
5:53 pm:<BAHRAM> E
5:54 pm:<BAHRAM> yes
5:54 pm:<subq> ok well here is what i did
5:54 pm:<subq> i opened two MP charts
5:54 pm:<subq> changed them
5:54 pm:<subq> then did file, save all
5:54 pm:<subq> and it saved them
5:54 pm:<Daniel> somethig wrong with that chart....
5:54 pm:<LS_Bill> maybe you need to download tick data. press alt-D and download the last 1 day of tick data
5:54 pm:<Mike> hi all
5:54 pm:<LS_Bill> on ES #f
5:55 pm:<Daniel> no way would there be 0 X 1000s in a 5 point range with no trades done on the bid
5:55 pm:<BAHRAM> this chart goes back for days...
5:55 pm:<Mike> sub plans to make charthub left list better?
5:56 pm:<subq> thinking of dropping the most clicked?
5:56 pm:<Mike> great
5:56 pm:<Mike> put most recent maybe is all needed
5:57 pm:<LS_Bill> I would like to see a "best of Charthub" page
5:57 pm:<subq> i was kind of waiting for next release
5:57 pm:<subq> when we have the truly unique users down
5:57 pm:<LS_Bill> a "gallary" of some of the best charts posted on the site
5:57 pm:<subq> and then ew pretty it up on the left
5:57 pm:<Daniel> u wont see the best charts because they'
5:58 pm:<Daniel> are makin $
5:58 pm:<subq> arent posted... :)
5:58 pm:<LS_Bill> so that prospective users of IRT can peruse the best of page to get an idea of what's possible with I/RT, MarketDeleta
5:58 pm:<Daniel> lol
5:58 pm:<Mike> agree Bill that
5:58 pm:<LS_Bill> I guess so Daniel, you are such a cynic ;-)
5:58 pm:<subq> the most viewed will cut down to 5
5:58 pm:<Daniel> lol

5:59 pm:<subq> the next thing downt he road will hopefully be like commenting and chart voting, but that isnt high priority
5:59 pm:<Daniel> I would be willing to paot some nice MD charts but as it stands I just don't have that capability BIll.
5:59 pm:<Mike> most viewed uselessas never changes
5:59 pm:<Mike> most view today
5:59 pm:<Daniel> hehe
5:59 pm:<Mike> or most viewed this week
5:59 pm:<subq> mike yeah, actually that would be better
5:59 pm:<Mike> something better
5:59 pm:<subq> that Mike_Range chart will never drop
6 pm:<subq> because what happens is people always click it
6 pm:<subq> so it never goes down :)

6:01 pm:<Mike> someone post todays log i hope
6:02 pm:<subq> chat posts his cool charts with definitions too
6:02 pm:<subq> so anyone can import them
6:02 pm:<subq> how about my custom rvold
6:02 pm:<subq> http://www.charthub.com/images/2006/11/13/RVOLD_1t
6:02 pm:<subq> ration of $vold, easier to read
6:02 pm:<Mike> whysub
6:02 pm:<Mike> we need a SEARCH feature there BAD
6:02 pm:<subq> what would you search?
6:03 pm:<Mike> soneome wants s woodies chart they need to search for woodie
6:03 pm:<subq> the name of the chart?
6:03 pm:<Mike> yes toitally
6:03 pm:<Mike> of PNF
6:03 pm:<Mike> or TRIN
6:03 pm:<Mike> OIL
6:03 pm:<subq> we can add it
6:03 pm:<LS_Bill> or the comment section
6:03 pm:<Mike> TLB
6:03 pm:<Mike> yes
6:03 pm:<subq> but people name their charts diff things
6:03 pm:<LS_Bill> each chart has an optional user comment
6:03 pm:<Mike> someone otehr day asked in maillist for woodies chart setup
6:03 pm:<subq> i mean for example
6:03 pm:<subq> http://www.charthub.com/images/2006/11/28/1MIN
6:03 pm:<Mike> i know sub
6:03 pm:<subq> that is an ES chart
6:03 pm:<subq> but an ES search wouldnt hit it
6:04 pm:<Mike> well so many charts so many days how can a user find a particular chart?
6:04 pm:<subq> we will add search
6:04 pm:<Mike> great thanks you my friend
6:04 pm:<subq> i want to get next release first
6:04 pm:<subq> because that has the unique user stuff in it
6:04 pm:<subq> which changes up our DB
6:04 pm:<Mike> great
6:04 pm:<Mike> yeah agree
6:04 pm:<subq> and queries and whatnot
6:05 pm:<Mike> see with Bill desires then go with that
6:05 pm:<arno> Bll - is there a reason sometimes a chart opens with the wrong pane heights?
6:05 pm:<Mike> arno :)
6:05 pm:<arno> hey Mike
6:05 pm:<Mike> I have 1 on mac and 1 on pc :)
6:06 pm:<subq> ok search feature is no problem
6:06 pm:<subq> will get that up shortly
6:07 pm:<Mike> arno i think fix is do a save layout
6:07 pm:<Mike> thanks great sub
6:07 pm:<Mike> need search in anme and comments as Bill mentioned
6:07 pm:<arno> I did that, but I'll try it again...
6:07 pm:<Mike> it is a old littel bug or inconvience
6:08 pm:<Mike> i hate it also though
6:08 pm:<Daniel> y
6:08 pm:<fcat> those TPO/VP charts are messed up
6:08 pm:<Daniel> long standing issue
6:08 pm:<fcat> tks for agreeing dan
6:08 pm:<Mike> arno save as astarup layout i believe
6:08 pm:<Mike> mayeb Bill can fix someday not sure
6:08 pm:<arno> I do that alot... maybe that chart wasn't part of the layout
6:09 pm:<Mike> mayeb if fixable he would have by now :)
6:09 pm:<arno> subq - on this VP chart.. http://www.charthub.com/images/2006/11/27/ES_VP_2
6:09 pm:<Mike> has to do with movign chart and resavign chart if different then saved position when layout was saved i recall
6:09 pm:<subq> yes?
6:09 pm:<arno> how did you get the red squares next to the prices..
6:09 pm:<arno> ?
6:10 pm:<subq> that shows open/close
6:10 pm:<arno> umm - ok hold on..
6:10 pm:<subq> like a candlestick chart kinda
6:10 pm:<subq> just check the option open/close bars
6:10 pm:<Daniel> that VA no?
6:10 pm:<arno> ok - cool that's exactly what I wanted
6:10 pm:<arno> thanks
6:11 pm:<subq> no, the dark red and green nect to each bracket is the open close
6:11 pm:<subq> if you think of it like a candlstick
6:11 pm:<subq> that dark red bar is the body
6:11 pm:<Mike> candle body
6:11 pm:<subq> and the histogram above below is the wick
6:11 pm:<Daniel> ah ok
6:11 pm:<Mike> Goldman sacs here?
6:12 pm:<Mike> hey Cafe?!!!
6:14 pm:<subq> mike you see that url i posted?
6:14 pm:<subq> volume profile stuff
6:14 pm:<subq> http://www.chart-ex.com/charts/emini_sp500_combo.htm
6:14 pm:<subq> seeing if Chad can get something like that in
6:16 pm:<Daniel> well we had that in the old volume profile before he did the MD and that was what I was trying to tell everyone but no one was really interested with anything but the MD...and now look..they want the old plain VP back
6:17 pm:<subq> heh, i like the clean VP on old vs new
6:17 pm:<subq> if we can get that VS type volume profile in there
6:17 pm:<Mike> yw=eah
6:17 pm:<subq> it would be similar
6:17 pm:<Mike> ys
6:17 pm:<Mike> similiar to that link
6:17 pm:<subq> just the volume profile with high volume points
6:17 pm:<Mike> take old and add a few lines
6:17 pm:<Mike> exactly
6:17 pm:<Daniel> yeah
6:17 pm:<subq> and then we can do merged profiles on left would be cool
6:17 pm:<subq> weekly volume profile
6:17 pm:<subq> molnthly volume profile
6:17 pm:<Daniel> Bill thinks it was a Daniel only request.
6:18 pm:<Daniel> yes
6:18 pm:<subq> my intrestind if volume is the profile and the high volume points
6:18 pm:<Mike> be great sub
6:18 pm:<Daniel> 30 days was max I believe
6:18 pm:<subq> thats proboably fine, since i think it requires tick data
6:18 pm:<subq> more than 30 days of tick would be nasty :)
6:18 pm:<Daniel> kept 3 of them 20/10/5 day
6:19 pm:<subq> im running on a latest and greatest processor and HD and i still have to keep my tick data trimmed
6:19 pm:<Daniel> it was exactly how the grey shaded area is in your post Subq
6:19 pm:<Daniel> but on one side
6:19 pm:<subq> yeah that is perfect
6:20 pm:<Daniel> I dont have an IRT older than June so I have no acess to that old VP but I seriously thought Chad was going to put that one back in...a simple VP chart
6:20 pm:<subq> i wonder if that feature could be added into just IRT
6:20 pm:<subq> and not have to be a MD thing
6:21 pm:<Mike> agree
6:21 pm:<Daniel> yes IRT had that for 4 years prior to MD
6:21 pm:<subq> it is a pretty basic thing
6:21 pm:<subq> volume profile
6:21 pm:<subq> it is on the MP charts already
6:23 pm:<LS_Bill> heading out, I'll discuss w/ Chad... night everyone
6:23 pm:<fcat> I have an 8.2.3 here Dan
6:23 pm:<Daniel> g night
6:23 pm:<subq> thx bill, have a good one
6:23 pm:*** LS_Bill has left
6:23 pm:<fcat> is that pre June ?
6:23 pm:<Daniel> oh well guess he didnt like that too much
6:23 pm:<Daniel> tried to requst it several times
6:23 pm:<subq> nah it is a good request
6:24 pm:<subq> i think a lot of people would like it
6:24 pm:<Daniel> yeah but the MD makes mor e$ and will it cause a cross over issue ?
6:24 pm:<subq> the volume footprint stuff is overkill for me
6:25 pm:<Mike> we all want that vol again please
6:25 pm:<Mike> so letsw all ask chad somehwo
6:25 pm:<Mike> hey
6:25 pm:<Daniel> for me alos...I am not fast enoughto read it to any bankable advantage....but thats me
6:25 pm:<Mike> you can make a poll on yahoo groups
6:25 pm:<Mike> meaybe need to be moderator to do it
6:25 pm:<Daniel> already did ask Chad and Bill and they both said they will discuss it and I took alot of BEEP for requesting it
6:26 pm:<Daniel> :-(
6:26 pm:*** Christine has left
6:26 pm:<subq> but all your requests and all the BEEP you took for stuff you thought of have made a nice product
6:26 pm:<subq> once it goes in :)
6:27 pm:<Daniel> tried to explain that volume and MP traders will come back asking for it eventually...the MD guys are a different breed of traders
6:28 pm:<Daniel> who has 82.5?
6:28 pm:<Daniel> fcat?
6:29 pm:<fcat> y
6:29 pm:<Daniel> hmmm
6:29 pm:*** Goldman_afk has left
6:29 pm:<Daniel> right click on any chart and open a Volume Profile chart
6:29 pm:<fcat> last version that displays my 1m charts correctly
6:29 pm:<fcat> so I keep a copy backed up
6:30 pm:<fcat> not running it...just have it
6:30 pm:<Daniel> ah ok
6:30 pm:<fcat> don't know what a vp chart is supposed to do anyway
6:30 pm:<fcat> ;-)
6:31 pm:<Daniel> lol
6:31 pm:<fcat> all giberish to me
6:31 pm:<Daniel> did u get one open or????
6:32 pm:<fcat> it must be of some value since you all like them so
6:32 pm:<Daniel> yes
6:32 pm:<Daniel> s/r levels based on supply/demand displayed in volume form
6:32 pm:<fcat> interesting
6:34 pm:<fcat> will take the time and look at them one day
6:34 pm:<Daniel> ok
6:34 pm:<fcat> you want me to send you 8.2 ?
6:34 pm:<Daniel> changed my trading from guessing to somewhat aware
6:34 pm:<fcat> only 4-5 mb
6:35 pm:<fcat> what's the basic interpretation of a tpo chart ?
6:35 pm:<fcat> in a nutshell
6:35 pm:<fcat> hehe....somewhat aware
6:36 pm:<Daniel> lol
6:37 pm:<Daniel> basic= shows the supply/demand crossed with fundementals in one chart
6:38 pm:<fcat> cool
6:38 pm:<fcat> tks for the abreviated versions Dan
6:38 pm:<Daniel> lol no problem
6:39 pm:<Mike> all one needs is my gold mine charts :)
