Answers to Common Questions

Question

I keep seeing the message "clock offset 8 seconds" in the message area below my main toolbar.  What does this mean and how can I correct it?

Answer

The "clock offset by x seconds" message means that the timestamps of the ticks coming in live from the data feed are x seconds different from your computer clock time at the time of arrival.  One way to correct this is to double-click on the clock in the task bar to bring up the Date and Time Properties window, click the Internet Time tab, and do an automatic update of the computer clock by clicking "Update Now".  The update can take maybe 10 seconds to complete.

If this doesn't solve the problem, you might want to look at the Efficiency Video to find if there are any issues within Investor/RT that could be causing the data to get behind.
