The commercial licensing system Investor/RT uses permits
the license code to be activated on one computer at a time. You may use
the same license code on two or more machines as long as you de-activate
the license on the machine where you last activated, before trying to
activate on the new machine. Go to File: License Activation on the
machine where you last used Investor/RT. If the license is active, you
will see …in good standing in green text in the window. Click
De-Activate License to return the license to the activation server
(internet connection is required for this). You may then go to a
different machine and activate the same license code there.
If this is not possible, e.g you are now at the office but left
Investor/RT activated at home, then email
support@linnsoft.com with an
explanation; we can remotely reset your license code as a courtesy. If
you are using the software back and forth on two machines often, we
encourage you to add an additional license code to your account. The
cost is $20/mo. The additional license code carries the same attributes
as your primary license code. Having two license codes enables you to
keep two machines activated and ready at all times. With an additional
license you may run the software on two machines simultaneously if you
wish. If you want to use Investor/RT often on two or more machines, see
this FAQ:

The licensing system uniquely identifies the machine using the
license by considering a variety of settings including the serial number
of the main hard drive, the MAC address of the networking adaptor
(wireless or Ethernet card) in use on the machine and other
distinguishing characteristics. If you swap out or restore a hard drive,
do a system restore, install a new operating system, or
replace/change the network adaptor you use with the machine, the license
system may infer that you are now using a different computer when in
fact you are not. In such situations, email
support with an explanation;
we can remotely reset your license code as a courtesy. If you know
in advance that you going to do some major maintenance on the machine
where your license is activated, by all means De-Activate your license
beforehand. Once your machine is ready for use again, activate the
license again.
