To adjust the delay time in seconds between charts when the slide
show is proceeding automatically, see "Setup: Preferences: General".
At the top right, you'll see options for "Chart Slide Slide Show Pause"
and "Continuous Slide Show". The pause specified will control the
time (in seconds) between each slide/symbol. If "Continuous Slide
Show" is checked, then the slideshow will automatically start over with
the first symbol when it reaches the end. If unchecked, the
slideshow will terminate with the last symbol. The slide show toolbar
is a tool for quickly reviewing charts for a series of instruments
listed in a quote page. It can be requested from the quote page tool bar
when a quote page is open or from the chart tool bar when a chart is
active by clicking the Slide Show icon.
The controls on the slide show toolbar are similar to a slide projector
and are detailed below:

The slide show toolbar associates the symbols in a quote page with an
active chart window. This association is completely dynamic. You may
modify or replace either the chart window or the quote page at any time.
The slide show toolbar will then adjust automatically to your changes.
For example, you may pause a slide show, add a few symbols to the quote
page and resume the slide show. The newly added symbols will
automatically be included in the slide show sequence. Similarly, you can
add new technical indicators, change to an altogether different chart or
make any adjustments you wish to the chart and resume the slide show
with the revised chart format.
Finally, you can click to select any symbol in the quote page and
Investor/RT will automatically position the slide show toolbar at that
instrument and chart the chosen symbol. The message area in the main
tool bar shows the current position of the slide show. While the slide
show toolbar is active, clicking or moving from symbol to symbol in the
quote page using the up or down arrow keys causes the associated chart
window to be redrawn with each symbol in turn.
The slide show toolbar now has a "Printer" icon at the right end.
This button is used to turn on and off batch printing of charts during
slide shows. When the button icon is a printer with a red slash through
it, slide show printing is OFF. This is the default. Click the button to
toggle between on and off. When the button icon is the printer icon (no
red slash), starting a slide show causes each chart that appears during
the slide show to be printed (including the first one that was visible
when you start the slide show).
On the Windows platform, if you have a default printer setup, the
printing takes place without user interaction. This new feature is not
at present as useful on the Macintosh platform since the Macintosh
printing function necessitates clicking a print button in an ensuing
dialog box to confirm the print operation. Under MS Windows with a
default printer specified this feature can print a batch of charts for
the tickers in any quote page unattended. If you have multi-linking
enabled for the slide show, only the front most chart window is printed
for each ticker in the slide show.
The Multi-Chart button on the slide show toolbar makes it more
convenient to switch between single chart and multi-chart slide shows.
The button appears second to the right end of the toolbar and displays
the letter M or S. M is shown when multi-chart slide show mode is in
effect. Clicking the M button changes the button to S and vice versa (S
means single chart slide show). When multi-chart slide show is in
effect, advancing the slide show to the next ticker causes all open
unlocked charts to be updated with the new symbol. When single chart
slide show mode is in effect, only the front (active) chart window
advances.
With a chart window in front and the slide show controller window is
open, pressing the space bar advances to the next slide/symbol in the
slide show. This shortcut can be used even if the slideshow is already
advancing on its own. |
