Shapes Indicator
Shapes Indicator Video
- This video demonstrates a variety of ways to use the Shapes Indicator
including highlighting key areas, painting indicator panes with different
background color, and drawing repeating and concentric shapes.
Some items that were overlooked in video:
- Send to Back - If a shape is in the way
(in front of) another element in the chart, right-click on the dot
/hotspot of the shape and choose "send to back". For more
information on adjusting element order, click
here.
- Duplicating Shape - Line with many drawing
tools, the shapes indicator can be duplicated by ctrl-dragging the
indicator on the dot / hotspot. Simply hold down the ctrl-key while
dragging the shape from the dot / hotspot and drag it to a different
location. An exact copy of the shape (color, height, width, shape,
etc) will be created and can then be dragged to any other location on the
chart. This makes it easy to measure moves and project them into
different areas of the chart.
- Deleting Shapes - To delete a shape, click
on the dot / hotspot to select and then hit delete key on keyboard.
If you ever have a hard time finding the dot (selecting shape), just hit
the tab key until the shape is selected, then hit delete to remove, or
enter to bring up preferences for shape. If you tab past the shape,
you can shift-tab to tab backwards. To remove all shapes from chart
at once, right-click in chart and choose "Add/Delete/Edit: Delete: All
Drawing Tools". Keep in mind that will clear the chart of not only
shapes, but all drawing tools including trendlines and reference lines.
- Shape Buttons - To create a button for a
specific shape, right-click on shapes dot / hotspot and choose "Add Button
(SHAPE)". That will create a button titled "SHAPE". To change
title or color of button, right-click on button and choose "Edit Button".
To move button, right-click on button and choose "Move Button".
