Using toolbars, Investor/RT provides convenient single-click access to many of its features. The main toolbar, usually anchored at the top of the screen under the menu bar, is always available. It provides access to each of the Investor/RT window types. Click on an Investor/RT Main Toolbar element below to access addition information and screenshots of Investor/RT features.

A special toolbar called the main toolbar contains icons buttons for opening objects of each type and other buttons for accessing frequently used features of the application. The main toolbar may be anchored at the top of the screen to conserve screen space or it may float like other toolbars at any user preferred location. The main toolbar also contains a message area where informational messages are displayed as Investor/RT monitors the data feed or responds to user commands.

Sometimes status messages may appear only briefly before being replaced with a new message. Important messages are logged to a text file, called the "message log". The contents of this text file may be reviewed at any time by choosing File:Open:Message Log.
