My thoughts as well as difficulty with Technical Indicators is discerning what EXACTLY do they indicate. This is especially the case with ones that are complex and use advanced mathematics. Each indicator is a measurement of something, and that measurement tells a story of a particular period of time about particular circumstance. Its gets difficult
though when discerning different indicators together to understand whether they are complimentary chapters of the same story, or simply a different story altogether.
As a result I've always tried to create my own indicators because even though they are generally not as advanced and maybe even not as good, I can combine them with others that I created to know exactly what story or part of the story they are describing. It seems like a never ending journey for me to piece different chapters together
though to understand the 'big picture' of what story these indicators together are really telling.
So for me I think all indicators are truthful, they just may not all be addressing right subject that compliments what other indicators are indicating.
People will say "there are plenty of ways to skin a cat" (there must be a better expression) but it is so true with trading, and it emphasizes how its possible for any indicator be of value to someone, as long as that person can figure out what 'chapter' if fits into the story he's trying to read, as well as gain as much understanding as possible on what influence it has on the whole 'book'.
