| Q&A: I use Zen-Fire / Rithmic as my live datafeed. I
would like to run Ninja and Investor/RT at the same time, but when I log
onto one, it kicks me off the other. What can I do?
Answer |
Getting Started with Investor/RT and
Zen-Fire/Rithmic
-
You will need to install or upgrade to the latest 10.4
or later version of Investor/RT from
www.linnsoft.com/dl. This is the version that supports
Zen-Fire and Rithmic.
-
Once you've upgraded to 10.4 or later, and started Investor/RT,
choose "File: Configure..." from the menu and choose "Zen-Fire" or "Rithmic" from the
list as the market data source and click the "Configure" button. When completed, you should see a Zen-Fire or Rithmic choice in the
menu between the "Window" and "Help" menus.
-
Once Investor/RT is configured choose
"Zen-Fire: Setup" or "Rithmic: Setup" from the main menu and enter your broker supplied username and
password. Do not fill in the Brokerage
Account ID. It will be filled in automatically when you make your
first successful connection to Zen-Fire/Rithmic . Click OK when finished entering the username and password.
-
Once you've entered your login information,
click on the Start Feed on the main toolbar. If you have problems
connecting, please email support with the details or the error
message you receive during connection.
-
Symbol setup for Zen-Fire requires the user to enter
the proper ticker symbol and the proper exchange. Some of the more
common symbols can be found on our symbols
page. If you are not receiving streaming data on a symbol, it is
likely you either have the wrong symbol or the wrong exchange (alt-a to
check). Please watch this video on
Symbol Setup for
Zen-Fire. You can also find information on the Zen-Fire symbology at
the AMP Futures
Contract Specification page.
-
We highly recommend the use of the
DTN Market Access (DTNMA) historical backfill feature when using
Zen-Fire for live data. Zen-Fire only provides 1 day of historical
tick backfill and does not provide the bid/ask prices with that backfill
(which causes problems with features such as the Volume Breakdown
indicator). DTNMA provides a very complete and reliable backfill
solution for $15/month. Click here to find
out more. This feature can be turned on instantly by going to "File:
License Activation" and then "Revise License".
