Edit User Variable (RTX)

Edit User Variable (RTX)

The purpose of the EditUserVariable tool is to provide one or more persistent user variable editors directly in a chart to facilitate frequent revisions to the value of V#, C#, or T# user variables.

User Variables and Reference Lines

This video illustrates how to use reference lines based on V# variables to set high and low alarms for a variety of symbols directly in a chart. This method also works well for reference lines based on High and Low Alarm levels.

Sharing Reference Lines: Linking Lines Among Multiple Charts with User Variables

This video demonstrates how to add reference lines to multiple charts of the same instrument which are linked to a common price using User Variables (V#). Users may drag a line in one chart and the lines in the other chart will adjust accordingly. Users may also change the price to which the reference lines are attached easily using a button in the chart of a column in a Quotepage.

User Variables V# Variables

User Variables V# Variables

This video illustrates the very powerful concept of User Variables or V# Variables. User Variables allows various components of Investor/RT to set and share data, including quotepages, scans, charts (annotations, ref lines), and custom indicator. (Components not covered: importing, exporting, backtesting, DDE linking)

Auto Scan and Transfer to Excel

Auto Scan and Transfer to Excel

This video demonstrates how to run a scan at days end to set the VAH, VAL, previous settlement, settlement, high, low, and open into User Variables which are then automatically transferred over to an excel spreadsheet via DDE. In this video, the data is limited to day session data and run on symbols that use different sessions.

User Variables (V# Variables)

Every symbol has up to 512 available User Variables (V#1, V#2, ... V#512) which can be used to store data specific to that symbol. User Variables have become useful in a variety of ways in Investor/RT. As quotepage columns, their values can be adjust manually directly in the quotepage cell. Values can be set for an entire quotepage with a single scan (e.g. SET(V#1, CCI)). Reference lines can be attached to user variables. Each variable can be assigned it's own custom title (which shows up in quotepage columns) and display format (2 decimal, 32nds, etc).
