Question

Is there a way to create a "split session" Market Profile Chart or Profile Indicator where the overnight session and the day session are split into separate profiles?

Answer

Yes.

Market Profile Charts...
Simply setup the Market Profile chart with the following preferences in the "Profiles" tab.  Notice the "Special Profile Duration" is checked and setup with "Minutes: 1020".  In this example using session 31 (GLOBEX session), there are 1020 minutes in the overnight period (from 16:30pm ET to 9:30am ET).  The number of minutes may vary depending on the session you're using, but this is the most common setup.  This will result in each day/session being split up into two profiles, one for the overnight period (16:30pm ET to 9:30am ET) and another with the remainder of the session (9:30am ET to 16:15pm ET).

Profile Indicator...
Setup the Profile Indicator with "Time Per Profile" preferences seen below.  Notice that "Custom" is checked, with "3 Sessions" selected from the listbox to the right.  We will only be using 2 session but 3 session are possible.  Just under "Per 1" is where we specify the 1st period (or first session) in minutes.  There are 1020 minutes in the overnight period of the GLOBEX session and 405 minutes in the day session (Period 2).  Since those two periods consume all the minutes of the session (session 31), there will be no 3rd session.  Now each session will be divided into two profiles, one covering the overnight period and one the day session period.
