Error: IRTACTIVE file in use

If you are receiving an error: IRTACTIVE file in use, this is an indication that a Virus Protection software is periodically attempting to scan files that Investor/RT is trying to use. Investor/RT is constantly receiving data and therefore is constantly updating files in its working directory. If a Virus Protection software attempts to scan these files at the same time that Investor/RT is trying to write to them, you will receive this error. The solution is to exclude the following 2 directories from being scanned by your Virus Protection Software:

C:/Users/YourUserName/InvestorRT
C:/Program Files(x86)/InvestRT

This error can also be caused by software that periodically makes a backup although it is not as common for this to be the cause.
